Sometimes I feel like...

Thu Nov 8, 2012, 7:55 AM

WARNING: Don't read this if you're touchy about politics. Not looking for a fight, just got to get this out.

This is my view, and if you attack/ instantly judge me for having a different opinion then my respect for you has just hit negative infinity. I know that most of dA would disagree with me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go around name calling, unwatching, and raging at everyone who thinks different. That's childish.

Sometimes I feel like people just say they're for Obama because they want to look cool for their friends. And they don't actually do any research on his ways or look at the impact it can have on our country. Actually, that's how it is with all politicians. No one does research before they vote anymore, they're just like "Oh hey he's a certain race so I'm going to vote for/against him!" "He's for gay rights so I'm going to vote for him, nothing else matters!" Or my favorite, "He's going to take the money away from the rich people and give it to the poor even though the rich earned it!"

>_>

I know plenty of people who are for Obama because this that and the other. And while I have nothing against these people, I won't change my views just to 'fit in'.

Don't get me wrong, I think all politicians are liars. Both candidates sucked balls this go around. Hopefully next time we'll get some good guys to vote for.

But really.

As someone who is pro-choice, a minority, middle class, female, non-religious, and pro-same sex marriage, I'm just going to come out and say it.

I hate Obama.

I hate his policies and I think they're going to destroy America. I also think he got voted in because people refuse to research candidates and just blindly threw votes at him because its 'cool'. I think the Republicans could have chosen a better candidate as well.

Anyhow, I feel better now.

This probably the only political journal I'll ever make ever ever because I don't really like posting this stuff on dA. I seem to be a magnet for attacks, which is really odd because I usually get attacked by people who preach free speech.

So yeah.

The end.

This is why you vote for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson, either of which would be better for the country overall than the two main candidates! But yeah, do your research, people!!

As to the whole "voting to be 'cool'" thing... Depending on where you're from and what community you live in, it's going to be more socially acceptable to vote for a particular candidate, but this is for both of the main candidates!!! You can't just say that the only peer pressure is to vote for Obama, because that's totally not the case. Plenty of uneducated/peer influenced votes went to Romney, too. Either way, I wish Americans would educate themselves and come to their own conclusions rather than making judgments based on the opinions fed to them by mainstream media/campaign ads.

I agree 100%. Totally and completely agree... Obama has ruined it. I've watched, over the last four years, the proud American Bald Eagle crumble away. Mind you, before that I had no idea what was going on and I am not one for politics, but I still don't like him. I've hardly remembered a time outside Bush's term as president (as I was young when he was elected and then retired) but I did remember it was better than this. It's practically Civil War II! If that wasn't a sign enough, what is?

I agree with you wholly, but my opinion comes from being the daughter of a military personnel. Obama is just wrong for the military. He has no real tactics and has indirectly killed multitudes of people by telling the enemy that we planned to move out of the middle east. I fear for my dad and all military members who are in or going to Afghanistan and other places in the middle east because they are basically sitting ducks. This is why I don't like Obama, but really, he's an okay guy. I met him and his family when I sang in Hawaii at a performance, and they were generally nice, but for our military's sake I think Romney would have been a better leader. =/

Well i have respect for your point of view, im not one who is crazy on politics, personally i feel that politicians are just power hungry individuals... they may start out having great promises but they never seem to hold out, then they just bicker between the parties and its just really messy, no one can make everyone happy and i guess that is the bottom line....

To be honest, you're not the only magnet for hatred when it comes to political views on dA. Everyone has been acting like they got 12 shots of testosterone in the last week.

Honestly, I agree with most of Obama's policies, and disagree with a few of them. But I didn't find more than one or two things I liked about Romney's plans, or standpoints on key issues.
But I will admit, the Republican party threw a very poor person to represent them during this election. I kind of wish they would have thrown a candidate that didn't wreak of "deceitful, stiff son of a bitch" the moment he entered a room. I also wish the Democratic party would have thrown the same thing, but that didn't happen.
Seeing as I don't really have a party, I prefer to be one of those people who's all flippity floppity with their choice of parties, and chooses on a candidate to candidate basis only. (Hell, I tend to stay out of politics until people are running for president, senate, etc. Then I do some mass research, realize all the candidates are assholes, and curse myself for having to go to the polls that Wednesday. )

WTB Battle between two people other than a Jackass and a Douchebag. I'd like ONE ELECTION where it's not like that.

I'm disappointed with Romney.
He shares my birthday! And he's a compete idiot.

I acutally don't care about these things because they don't affect me yet, and they haven't so far.

All I want to know is what happened to the good old days of Kennedy and Reagan?
Honest people who cared. Where did all that go?

I just think that if Romney had been more strong with his points (more conservative points), he would have won the election. But instead, he was extremely wishy washy because he wanted to get the independent vote.
Now, we're stuck with Obama for ANOTHER four years of misery.... -_-

It was kind of a hard decision, as you said; all candidates kinda sucked this time >.< But honestly, as a Canadian who doesn't really care for politics, who, if had to choose, would say I am veeeeeeeeeeeery left-wing: from what I've heard about both Obama and Romney, I was terrified about Romney winning. :S But again, they both have some goods and many bads, and it was kind of a, "ok, who sucks the LEAST" situation :P

But again, I'm not interested to a great degree in politics, so what do I know? ;p

I didn't like either candidate. But I hated Romney and thought he was dumb for the news articles I read and quotes from his speeches and stuff. Were they true, I don't know, but they were all over the internet. I didn't even get to vote this year though, I missed registry date. I just hated Romney, and was neutral with Obama since he put in place Obama care and got us out of the war ( I coudln't give a crap about bin laden (spelling), I wasn't old enough to actually care about the twin towers) plus he is for same sex marriage and equal pay for women (plus I didn't want to have to pay full price for the birth control I need to not die every month). Honestly though, I'm moving out of the country either way, because with either candidate we are going down the tubes because people are too stupid to choose candidates that actually care for the people.

You're welcome :la:

I lost a lot of faith in humanity seeing a bunch of journals in my inbox where people are outright bashing people who think different. Calling them bigots, hypocrites, idiots, undeserving of life. That kind of stuff. I was pretty shocked because a lot of those same people put a lot of value in being able to freely express one's opinion, then turn around and viciously attack people who don't agree with them. But I guess that's just dA for ya.

That and because the mainstream media makes everyone think that he is a perfect man who does nothing wrong and such... but really... people need to research themselves. You can't trust everything your told. Americans have gotten so used to just being fed information that now they 'don't know how' to research themselves... or something...

I know how you feel. Really and truly, knowing Obama's past history, he will run us to the ground just because it's his last year in office. When, I found out Obama was president again, I flipped out. He should NOT be president. I truly think the U.S.A president should be American. (No offence what so ever) He is bringing out his Muslim traits. I seriously think we all are going to end up as Slaves because of Obama.

~Just my point of view, no offence to anyone~

o-o No offense hun, but Obama is an American citizen by all legal and social standards having been born and raised in the United States, and is also a devout christian, raised in a non religious household by a non practicing Methodist mother, and an Atheist father.

His name comes from African roots. (Which mind you, their culture and the middle eastern culture were forcibly molded together in many cases around the same time as the Crusades, since Arabian countries were extending their beliefs and religious views into Africa.)

But just keep in mind, he's not actually Muslim, nor is he a foreigner. x.x; That was all the hype when he first started running for president, because people hadn't had time to look into it, but that was all dispelled a few months after.
